So yes. She has her first pair of TOMS shoes, courtesy of our dear Ms. Nancy, one of Mum's best friends.

Nancy even took Sophie on a special shopping trip to pick them out when we were up there visiting this summer. Of course she went straight for the red sparkly ones and they fit perfectly now.

And of course she loves them!

So we're just waiting here. We are supposed to go up north to my parents for Hubby to do a project up there. But we can't go til he's finished his projects down here. So we wait.

And have some fun!  My birthday last week was nice. A laid back day and picnic at the park in the morning with my sisters and all the munchkins. Hubby cooked dinner and gave me perfect pressies, deep pink roses, and tiramisu. Ah. I do love birthdays!

And since then, just doing some Fall cleaning, purging of toys and clothes (and prepping them for consigning this week), and wiping the never ending runny noses of my children. Who, by the way, are playing more and more with each other every day. Jack's learning to include his sister and Sophie is learning to protect her own property. Ha!

And she won't go anywhere without that hat. If I put a dress on her, the hat goes on too! I hand it to her and she jams it on her head and toddles off. Too cute. Here they are before church on Sunday. Love them.

Yeah, so a "snotty nose" takes on a whole new meaning when oxygen tubes are involved. Yuck.

And this mama has been known to suck out the nose cannula with my mouth. I know. I cannot even describe the revulsion. What we won't do for our kiddos, huh?! :)

Poor baby has been sick for a week now with this cold and the snot, it just keeps comin'! The positives are that she hasn't had a fever and doesn't seem to be getting an infection of any sort from it. But oh boy, has she struggled with her O2 levels!

So much for the "healing" that some random lady claimed for her a few weeks ago (more on that later). Yeah, I don't think so.

Ahoy, Doughnuts!

I'm so behind on updates and have to jump back in somehow, so here goes! It's September. We're enjoying cooler weather, fighting colds and enjoying outings with the cousins.

Last Thursday, our local Krispy Kreme celebrated National Pirates Day by giving out one dozen doughnuts to anyone brave enough to don pirate garb. Yes, you read that correctly. ONE. DOZEN. DOUGHNUTS. EACH. Needless to say, the wee pirates were made to hand over most of their bounty to the grown ups!

Jack was a little uncertain about the process and only participated under duress and after insisting on wearing his komodo-dragon-hunting boots and cowboy vest. Interesting pirate combo but who cares?!

We concluded the fun with a picnic at a local playground and then took our sugary, dusty little mateys off home for long naps.

And I hate to admit it, but by 9 am the next day, there wasn't a doughnut to be found at our house! Yum.

One Year Later!

Big Girl Seat

 

 

She's finally got a big girl car seat! Poor thing was far too tall for the infant carrier, but due to limited funds and her weight etc., we hadn't found her a decent option until last week. But hubby found a great deal on Craigslist and voila! She loves it and I suspect would love it even more if we had her facing forward. Another 6 months, baby girl!
