So our sweet Jack boy turned 2 yesterday. Sometimes it does seem like it's been 24 months but I still remember his birth day so vividly. It snowed the day he was born (everyone said it was because he is half Russian!), and yesterday we had a tornado come through, so I guess he's all about inclement weather! We had a good day with him, lots of special moments together and just enjoyed all his excitement about the various things we did.
As we had to get out the door to school, we only let him open one present that morning. He was so excited about the robot wrapping paper and was convinced there was a robot inside too. Nope, sorry boyo, just a pair of sunglasses. The reason I got him sunglasses was because he's been walking around wearing a pair of my Mum's very large, very round fashion glasses. So cute. But not very masculine. Of course, having his own pair was not the big hit I thought it would be. He was much more excited about the wrapping paper, got somewhat concerned when no robot could be found inside the package and proceeded to rip the paper into little shreds in an attempt to locate one. Too funny!
The sequel to this episode it that while opening his other presents later in the day, Andre had the brilliant brainwave to tell him that his present from Sophie was a robot. A robot named Mr. Potato Head :). He was THRILLED!
And yes, we did have the party this morning, despite not so nice weather. Will post about that later. Happy birthday dearest Jack. We are loving this precious stage in your life!
