Today, I spent a wonderful afternoon with my best college buddy and partner in crime, Liesl, and her little boy. Thanks for a great time Lies!

Girls just want to have fun...
Having the day off on Thursday was so great! I got to hang out with Ness and Baby Michaela. Folding baby clothes, changing diapers and burping has never been such fun!
We took a little trip to Target...
Introduced her to the joys of shoe shopping...
And dressed her up in some of her new clothes once we got home.

Two weddings and a family celebration
Saturday was a very busy day for us, with much to celebrate. In the afternoon Andre and I attended the wedding of some friends from church: congrats Diana and Andrew!
After that we headed up to my sister's house to celebrate Stephen's birthday. This was especially nice because Dad was in town, so we were all together again, this time with Michaela!
Aunty Liz, a close family friend, popped in to see the baby too.
Then Andre and I changed into our "wedding clothes" again...
...gave Michaela one last cuddle...
...and headed out to an evening wedding reception: congrats Janel and Steve!

Happy Birthday Steve!
Home
The last few days have been so exciting having Vanessa and Sean's new baby around! They were able to leave the hospital on Thursday afternoon and have settled in nicely at home. Michaela much prefers her family's arms(and there are plenty of them!) to her new crib, but Sean did catch a shot of her napping nicely in her little nursery.

38 weeks and counting!
We have officially entered July and are now waiting with bated breath for my sister to have her baby! The crib has been made up, tiny clothes washed, diapers stacked...all is in readiness and we can't wait to meet "The Bug" (and we're all taking bets on whether it's a boy or girl!) What do you think?

The Peachtree Road Race
This morning (at 6:45 am!) Andre and I headed out to watch the Peachtree Road Race for the first time. We met some friends from church and although we missed the wheel-chair racers, who I was so looking forward to seeing, we got there in plenty of time to see the first runners come through, most of whom were professional runners, from Kenya. However it was an Ethiopian guy (who we saw running a little behind the Kenyan group) who actually won the race. We saw him on TV this evening. One of the most interesting and fun parts of the whole event was how many people we knew running! In all, there were about 12 people from church we were able to identify (amid 55,000 runners) and cheer for! Congrats everyone!

Just ducky...
Lately, most of my Saturdays have included either a wedding or baby shower. Here are some photos of the two most recent baby parties!
This past Saturday we celebrated the recent birth of Keona, born to my friend Ruth.
