Recovering

Andre is doing well and has survived the week since his surgery. His knee has more flexibility and the swelling is decreasing, but he is still experiencing quite a bit of pain and has to keep the leg fully elevated most of the day...it will be a long recovery but he's been a great patient! He has physiotherapy twice a week now and the doctor is pleased with his progress. Thank you for all the prayers and visits and meals!

Surgery went well!

Thanks for all the prayers everyone. Andre's surgery went really well this morning. We arrived at 9 and he was all finished and awake, ready to go by 1 pm! He woke right up from the anesthetic, asking for champagne...typical! The doctor was pleased with the surgery and we were given this series of little photos of his knee before and after which are really interesting. The ACL was all ripped and awful looking, but it's replaced now and should be stronger than before. Anyway, he is resting well and still doesn't have much pain, for which we're thankful.
And when we got home this afternoon, these were waiting for us, sent by my Mum and Dad! Such a treat.

Nesting

Last weekend Andre and I did some more organizing and cleaning, and worked a bit on our living room. We've been in this condo since September and still haven't finished feathering our little nest! Here are the results, for those of you who can't come to visit!

Back in the land of the living...

Please excuse our long absence! Due to travel, work and now a long week of flu, I've sadly neglected our updates. January has been busy busy busy, beginning with a New Year's visit from Liesl and Sean Mc. and baby Ian, whom we met for the first time. Cute as a button! We all met up in Chattanooga and had a few hours together catching up.

The middle of the month saw me and Andre off to Beaver Creek, CO for a week's skiing, finally using the time-share week we were given as a wedding gift--thank you Frank and Dottie!
Such a treat! It's the longest vacation we've ever taken completely alone.

We so enjoyed it, even though the weather was freezing!

Needless to say, I wasn't on the slopes much. The spa day was fabulous though! Andre had a great time but came back on crutches due to a sprained (but thankfully not torn!) ACL. And now we're at home, recovering from a nasty bout of flu which has had me in bed for a whole week! And why didn't I get a flu shot?!
